About Simply Vows

I am Sammy Southwick, long time Butte, America resident and for the last several years, wedding officiant. I’ve always been a lover of weddings, but with few friends tying the knot, I decided to take matters into my own hands and became ordained. Since then, I’ve had the honor of officiating the weddings of dear friends and wonderful couples, celebrating their love in ceremonies that truly resonate with who they are.

I serve the beautiful region of southwest Montana and have a deep love for outdoor weddings—whether at elegant venues or tucked-away backroad adventure spots. I’m especially excited by the thought of officiating a skiing or snowboarding wedding, and also a backcountry elopement for those adventurous souls ready to say “I do” in nature’s embrace.

One of the most unforgettable weddings I’ve had the honor of officiating was a surprise elopement for two dear friends. They had a marriage license and knew they wanted to marry, but hadn’t settled on when or how. The bride secretly reached out to me, and together, we planned the perfect surprise ceremony for the groom on the anniversary of their first date. It was an intimate, joyful celebration, filled with love and spontaneity—a true reflection of their bond. Being part of such a beautifully personal moment reminded me why I love doing what I do.

My journey doesn’t stop here; I dream of expanding my services to include wedding planning to help couples bring every detail of their big day to life. Above all, my children are my greatest inspiration, and they drive my passion for creating a meaningful career filled with love and celebration.

  • For couples seeking a short, straightforward ceremony. Includes:

       - Basic script (provided by officiant)

       - Declaration of intent and pronouncement

       - No personal vows included

       Price: $125

  • A slightly more detailed service that includes:

       - Customized script with a brief backstory of the couple

       - Exchange of vows (pre-written or personal)

       - Standard ritual elements (e.g., ring exchange)

       With Vows: $200  

       Without Vows: $175

  • A fully personalized ceremony that reflects the couple's love story and values. Includes:

       - Personalized script tailored to the couple's story and style

       - Assistance with writing vows, if desired

       - Choice of any ritual elements (e.g., unity candle, sand ceremony)

       - Consultation with the couple to discuss details

       With Vows: $250  

       Without Vows: $225

  • For couples seeking a highly customized experience, including a rehearsal. Includes:

       - All features of the Signature Ceremony

       - Attendance and coordination at rehearsal (up to 1 hour)

       - Personalized script with full guidance on any rituals and customs

       - Unlimited consultation and planning support for the ceremony details

       With Vows: $350 

       Without Vows: $325

  • - Rehearsal Attendance (if not included): $100

    - Keepsake Certificate: $25

    - Custom Vow Writing Support: $50

    - Travel is $0.64 per mile for each mile, mileage is charged for any venue 5 miles or more outside of Butte, MT City Limits.

To book your date, a 50% deposit is required. I accept payments via cash, Venmo & PayPal, and any remaining balances are due one week before the ceremony.
